Sometimes what we really need in order to get fit is a break from our usual routine and the introduction of some different surroundings.

Getting away from our everyday lives can be just the impetus we need to turn a new leaf or get back on track with previous goals. With this in mind, we have brought the successful FIT camp format to Dolygaer!

Our programmes are aimed at everyone looking for a healthy lifestyle, a weight loss program or simply a fitness kick. Maybe you are a couple about to get married looking to start your marriage on a healthy note. Maybe you made a New Year’s resolution to take better care of your body. Perhaps your doctor has told you that you need to make a change in your life.

Activities

Our Fit Camps are a multi-day fitness adventure designed to challenge, educate and motivate you to make positive lifestyle changes.

Although you will certainly enjoy some fantastic outdoor activities while staying with us and have a great time exploring the outdoors the aim of the camps is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle and reach your future fitness goals. We aim to use the beautiful surroundings of the Brecon Beacons National Park to guide you through our exhilirating outdoor activities and fitness classes.

We understand that everyone has different fitness goals and people of all shapes, sizes, abilities and fitness levels are welcome. No matter what your level of fitness is you will be pushed to your own limits. Throughout the camp, individuals will receive one to one fitness consulations to set goals for the future and leave Dolygaer with a clear plan of how to get there.

Sometimes what we really need to kick start our fitness plans is a break from our everday routine. The combination of our full health and fitness programme, nutritional seminars & personal advice and glorious outdoor surroundings will leave you in the best possible place to acheive your goals back home.

Next Camp Dates:

  • Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd April

Upon arrival you will be introduced to our fitness coordinator and shown to your room. During the course of the first day individuals will be invited into an initial one to one fitness consulation. During this consultation you will hand in your completed diet and activity diary, we will then record data from a body composition analysis, have a chat about your current lifestyle, fitness levels and goals and confidentially address any questions you may have about the coming weekend.

During the first evening you will meet other guests and head to your first outdoor activity with a qualified instructor.

Each morning begins with a quick snack at 06.30 followed by a forty five minute fitness class with our camp coordinator. All of our classes are tailored to allow everyone to get the most from the session, regardless of ability. Following this you will be provided with a healthy breakfast to set you up for the day's activities. Throughout the day, qualified instructors will guide you through some of our challenging and exciting outdoor activities that have been designed to test you physically and develop your stamina. These activities wind down with a forty five minute stretch session before dinner.

Following the evening meal on Saturday you will be treated to a fascinating talk from a professional dietician. Diet is an essential part of all long term fitness plans and this talk will give you some practical advice and guidance on how to make sensible choices with your food once you are home.

Sunday follows the same format (with different activities) up until 16:00 when the final one to one consultations take place and the coordinator brings the camp to a close. Everyone will leave at 18:00 with a certificate and a personalised plan for how to continue with the progress they have made going forwards.

The remote location of our accommodation here at Dolygaer, coupled with some truly breathtaking natural surroundings means there are few places better suited to experiencing the outdoors and taking part in a range of fitness activities.

Our centre is situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park; we have beautiful Mountains, cascading rivers, tranquil reservoirs, impressive rock faces and fresh air right on our doorstep. To top this off our newly refurbished accommodation means in the evenings you can sit back and enjoy the views in comfort and style. We have accommodation to suit all needs ranging from our Bunkhouse to our open plan self catering cottage.

FAQ's

 

Q: I'm currently really unfit / not very good at exercising, can I still participate in the Fit Camps?

 

A: Yes! We welcome participants of all fitness levels and will ensure you only exercise to a level that is safe. All of our campers are also given the option of a one to one health and lifestyle assessment which you can use to discuss any concerns you have.

 

Q: I have special dietary requirements, can these be accomodated within the camp programme?

 

A: Yes, please make sure to let one of the staff know of any allergies or special dietary requirements when you book onto the camp so that we can ensure you are catered for while you stay with us.

 

Q: Will it be okay to come on my own?

 

A: Definitely. Many of our guests come alone and make great friends throughout their stay with us. 

 

Q: Can I upgrade my accomodation?

 

A: Yes you can. If you are coming with a group of four or more then you can upgrade to stay in our recently refurbished cottage. Please contact us for more information.
