Welcome to Rufford Abbey Country Park

Customer Update:

From Tuesday 5th January, Rufford Abbey Country Park will be partially closed due to the current national lockdown restrictions. As a Covid Safe venue, we have put a range of measures in place to ensure all our visitors are safe when visiting the park.

We are operating within the current Government guidelines which includes Country Parks and car parks being open for local exercise but our facilities will be limited.

Whilst we will always endeavour to remind visitors to stay local, it is not our responsibility to police where people travel from, it is down to individuals to adhere to Government guidelines.

The majority of our staff are still furloughed and the staff at the park are working hard to keep everyone safe with social distancing measures in place. Please be patient when accessing the park or queuing for services. The staff are doing their best under difficult circumstances.

Please remember Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Set in beautiful parkland, Rufford Abbey offers over 870 years of history, from its origins as a 12th century cistercian monastery to its period as a Jacobean era family home.

There is plenty to explore; with walks through the native woodlands, a lake and gardens plus a range of attractions, activities and places to relax and eat.

Family fun and activities are at the heart of the park. We have a full programme of seasonal workshops and special events; ranging from living history, archery competitions, themed trails to Christmas markets.  We also offer lots of options for educational visits.
